For me higher education is the coup de grace, what makes me truly despise the WBTS begins much younger, namely the eliminations of choice for a child and the stunting of their development. So many choices are removed from a dub childs life, to play sports, to date, to become a musician, to pursue the performing arts, and on and on it goes. So many possible paths are closed to dub children, so many avenues of growth and fullfillment of potential are never considered of which a higher education is one of the last the parents can shut down for a child before they become an adult through the mind control and guilt manipulation that begins when they bring the child home from the hospital.

OCT 1st WT SLAMS HIGHER EDUCATION.....AGAIN
by Mary innot sure if this was posted yet, but the boys in bethel are at it again.
the october 15th botchtower study article is, not so surprisingly, very negative and down on any parents that are encouraging their children to go to university.
i don't have a scanner here, so i'll have to highlight some of the more vomitous (is that a word?

Oh man, Loverboy, Working for the Weekend was the biggest hit they ever had, it was an anthem on Friday nights.
Hmm, junior high dance (I was already doing what the hell I wanted by Junior High), girl named Stephanie, first dance, first kiss, the song was Sometimes When We Touch by Dan Hill.

I think people refrain sometimes from posting either "taking a break" or "leaving" threads so as not to appear to be attention seekers.

Dogs and Communion
by Justin ini have been attending an independent church lately where they allow people to bring their pets (dogs) and give them communion.
for those who don't know the procedure, people file down to the front of the church and receive a piece of bread and a sip of wine - of course, they don't have two classes.
well, if you have your doggie with you, the pet can also receive (i assume only the bread - what a mess it would make for them to slurp from the chalice!).

Makes me think of Mel Gibson in one of the Lethal Weapon movies, where he says that he couldn't shoot a dog, a person no problem, but never a dog. I have heard it said that dogs are better people than people.

"....You probably think this song is about you...."
by Preston inwhen i was a faithful dub, the biggest, nagging doubt i had was the belief that a book... writing thousands, upon thousands of years ago....largely written in the middle east....was written with a couple of jehovah's witnesses in mind.
it never ceased to amaze me the number of elders that told me that "the bible was really written for the annointed...remember, everyone else just benefits from its non-heavenly related discussion..but only a god fearing, going to heaven annointed dub could truly understand it...in that special way.
the whole thing reminds me of that carly simon song, "you're so vain", you'd have to be really vain....or insane even... to think that a book that ancient was written with a couple of guys in brooklyn in mind, a city that didn't even exist at the time the last book of the bible was written.

Is this another one of those odd European games where it appears there are no rules or so many rules that it is indecipherable, and no one hits anybody eles? Though I will confess Rugby isn't bad, those boys have the right mentality, if they could just learn to throw a proper forward pass and get in the weightroom they would be alright, oh and actually having some plays would be good, rather than just running about like madmen.

Did you enjoy being a JW?
by JH inevery time i went to a meeting, book study, or whatever, the great majority of people looked as if they were truly happy to be a jw.
their smiles looked genuine.
they seemed to love talking to each other.. i, on the other hand, wasn't really happy to be at the meetings.

I was born into the borg, and I can honestly say from that first day in kindergarten when I realized I was different and had to stand in the hall for the pledge of allegence I hated the borg. I hated it for everything I had to miss as a child, sports, holidays, birthdays, etc. I remember my mother getting down on me because I didn't hide my hatred for the whole thing, ever.
